展出於猶他藝術博物館、Boca Raton Museum、Miami Art Museum、The Bass Museum。

Having lived in both rural and city settings has brought the natural and urban worlds together in Wendy Wischer’s work. The natural world stirs a nostalgic affection and strong sense of identity; at the same time, the excitement of an urban environment and advancing technology often prove to be equally intoxicating. She is lured to re-define the shape of her environment: to explore our shifting relationships with nature, the voice of the elements, the topography of technology and the mapping of time, space and memory.
Evergreen is a series of green leaves growing out of the walls. The leaves are covered with thousands of olive Swarovski flat back, olive green crystals. This installation is inspired by the leaves and plants that sprout along the bridges and overpasses of Miami. The seeds are thought to be dropped by passing birds, yet the plants grow with no dirt and very little water. Wischer found tremendous inspiration in these little plants that seem to exist against all odds. They are merely fulfilling their destiny, to grow. The man-made crystals have been a recurring theme through the work as a feeble attempt to heal the natural subjects they cover. The polyvalent concept of the installation is intended to provoke a sense of hope, however futile, within the viewer. 2009
